The pandemic enabled the massification of the new digital world: e-learning, e-government, e-commerce, e-culture, but also digital inequalities, more fake news and conspiracies, strengthening of authoritarian tendencies. Did the increased use of digital technologies empower digital citizens?
The debate will focus on three major topics:
- Digital citizens for a better future: what does the youth want to change in the previous ’normal’ and what is the new post-pandemic world it aspires to?
- E-teaching & e-learning: digital school & university – the dream of the digital natives or an imperfect version of a true education?
- Digital activism: how to get mobilized during lockdown and what are the causes that inspire the (post)pandemic generation?
Moderator: Vanina Ninova, Policy and Citizens Observatory
Speaker: Alexandra Mircheva, co-founder of Zone 21 - skills development hub; expert in the field of youth participation, education and training
Discussants: Ivaylo Dinev, Vanessa Andonova and Katerina Zaharieva
